Drunken man stabs wife to death

Mangaluru: A man in drunken stupor murdered his wife by repeatedly stabbing her with a knife early in the morning at 3 am on Saturday April 20th. The man in question has been identified as Sharanappa (45) and his victim is Manjula (30), both residents of Derebail Borugudde, Kavoor.
According to the information put together by the police from the locals, the accused is said to have often expressed suspicion about the character Manjula.
The neighbour of the deceased, Satish Ameen from Borugudde filed the complaint in which he stated that early in the morning he heard loud noise from the house of Sharanappa. On coming out of his house he saw Sharanappa through the window, repeatedly stabbing Manjula, who was lying on a cot, with a knife shouting that he wanted to kill her.
Ameen called out Sharanappa’s name at which, the latter dropped the knife and bolted off through the door. The victim succumbed to the stab injuries she suffered. Excessive bleeding was observed from the chest and abdomen region of the victim.
Kavoor police have registered a murder case. The corpse of the victim has been sent for post mortem and the cops are on the lookout for Sharanappa.
