Bengaluru: Nearly three days after a bomb scare gripped people at the Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station in Bengaluru, it is now learnt that the package containing dummy grenades belongs to the Indian Army.
A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report submitted to the Railway Police has revealed that the object was a simulator used for training sessions in Indian Army.
It may be recalled that on Friday, the railway authorities had gotten a call regarding a suspicious object lying near the trolley path between tracks near platform 1. Upon checking it was found to be a dummy grenade with no explosive charges inside. The object was later sent to FSL for a thorough examination.
As per the investigation the defence staff had despatched 12 wooden boxes with dummy grenades for training via trains. The details about the parcel was not disclosed to anyone for security reasons. The grenade could have fallen off during the journey
Exact details on how one such object fell out of the box are awaited.
