Mysuru: The Election Commission has arranged for first aid kits at all the polling booths in the district. Five beds in taluk hospitals have been reserved to treat if any critical situation arises.

The first aid kits will have six different medicines including tablets for fever, cold, allergy, antiseptic band-aid and ORS packets.

A squad of doctors and nurses will work to attend on any emergencies. Instructions have also been given that no staff including doctors and nurses should take leave during elections. If the patient needs additional medical care, they will be shifted to the taluk hospital concerned or to any well equipped private hospital nearby.

About 24.93 lakh voters will be voting on May 12. Apart from voters, nearly 11,000 government employees will be involved in the election process.
