Kundapura: An 8th grader studying in Movadi government school in Trasi village has been nominated for Inspire Award 2020-2021 for his creation of eco-friendly sanitizer bottle out of coconut shell.

As plastic is the major cause of environmental pollution, a special type of competition was conducted to tackle this problem where the students had to come up with various science models.

Pratham K Poojary, son of Kushal K Poojary and Sharada K Poojary bagged first prize in the competition with his innovative, eco-friendly sanitizer bottle made with coconut shell.

How to make eco-friendly sanitizer bottle?

Take three coconut shells and give it a wood polish. Use the lid of an empty shampoo bottle and stick it over with feviquik/m-seal.

Vatsala, teacher at Movadi  Government school informed that Pratham has been nominated for the Inspire Award 2020-2021 for his eco-friendly sanitizer bottle. She further informed that Pratham has conducted various eco-friendly experiments before.

Pratham,” When the school teacher asked to prepare science model, I though of coming up with a sanitizer bottle using coconut shell as the environment is being polluted with plastic and that’s how when I decided to make this. This was possible because of the support by family and teachers.” said
