ED harassing Sonia-Rahul Gandhi in National Harald case; Nationwide protest on June 13: DKShi

Bengaluru: Congress leaders and activists have decided to stage a protest in front of the offices of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in all parts of the country on June 13 against the harassment of its national leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, said KPCC president DK Shivakumar on Saturday.
As part of the campaign, protests will be held in front of ED’s office near Double Road in Shantinagar in Bengaluru on June 13, he said.
D K Shivakumar told media that Congress MPs and AICC officials will take part in protests in New Delhi.
He called forth all state legislators, leaders, and activists from the party to participate in the protest. “We have had discussions with Block and District Congress leaders regarding this protest. A large number of people are expected to join the protest. Workers from other parts of the state are coming to Bangalore a day prior,” he said.
“We won’t be entering the ED office but will be holding a dharna in front of the office,” he added.
The BJP government, which had earlier closed the National Herald case, has been reopened and handed the case to ED just for harassing the Gandhi family. The ED is being used as a political puppet by the central government, he claimed.
Further, DKShi said that the party or the Gandhi family does not fear such intimidation tactics and they are ready to go to jail if need be.
When asked about the rumours that Congress MLAs had cross-voted in the second priority votes, Shivakumar said that nobody from Congress has voted for BJP. “We have received all the first priority votes… I don’t know if any MLAs from other parties have cross-voted,” he added.
