Ever thought about munching the cup in which you had your tea? Well, thanks to this Mangaluru youth you can now actually eat your tea cups, spoons, and straw. Sounds strange but true.
Deekshit, a youth from Attavar developed edible tea cups, spoons, and straws after realising that we end up consuming some amount of harsh chemicals while having a drink and this may lead to serious health issues.
His company is called Yenchycrunchy.
A diploma graduate, Deekshit has previously worked in other companies before he decided to set up his own business. The items prepared by him are basically wafer-y which are made by using rice and ragi.
Currently, Deekshit’s factory is set up at his friend’s hometown in Kerala and he is planning to extend his business to Mangaluru soon.
Speaking to Udayavani Deekshit said, “I have been receiving good responses for my business. Ice cream and other companies from different states are also contacting me regarding this. We are capable enough to expand this business on a larger scale.”
“Plastic items are not only unhealthy for us but for the environment also, so it is good to avoid it. Doctors have also appreciated me for developing such edible items,” added Deekashit.
