Moodbidri: The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE), Mangalore, and Alvas Education Foundation have signed an educational agreement aimed at promoting entrepreneurship.

Under this agreement, a unique program called “TiE Elite” will be implemented in Alvas institutions during the 2024-25 academic year. This collaboration is expected to bridge the gap between education and the job market, offering students a clearer understanding of industrial practices during their studies, said Dr. M. Mohan Alva, President of Alvas Education Foundation.

Silicon Beach Vision

The initiative also aims to transform the coastal region into India’s “Silicon Beach” by encouraging the establishment of more industries. Over 100 companies from Mangalore and Udupi, including Nouvias Solutions, Novigo Solutions, 99 Games, and Glow Touch Technologies, are part of this initiative, focusing on mentoring, education, global networking, investments, and entrepreneurship.

Benefits for Students

The agreement will provide students with internship opportunities ranging from one to three months, helping them secure better employment. TiE will also appoint resource persons from its network to the academic boards of various Alvas colleges, offering guidance on various subjects.

Two selected students from Alvas Engineering College will receive mentoring, resources, and networking opportunities for their startups. Students will gain access to global entrepreneurs, investors, and successful leaders, facilitating connections to a global entrepreneurial network. TiE Coordinator Akhilesh, Glow Touch CEO Prasad Hebbar, 99 Games’ Rohith Bhat, Alvas Engineering College Principal Dr. Peter Fernandes, and Alvas College Principal Dr. Kurian were present during the signing.
