We’ve seen Indian sweets with silver foil on top. Have you ever tried a mithai with gold plating? A candy shop in Delhi sells gold-plated mithai.
A cook from Shagun Sweets in Maujpur, Delhi, is seen gold plating the mithai in a video posted on Instagram. Instagram account @oye.foodieee shared the video.
The chef can be seen applying gold foil on the mithai in the video. He uses butter paper to press it and then slices the mithai into pieces. Customers are served mithai that has been garnished with kesar.

More than 13.1 million people have watched the video. More than 6.66 lakh people have liked it. While some internet users were enticed to taste the pricey confection, others remarked that they were content with jaggery.
“Waah meetha khaana tabhi chhod diya maine,” one person said.
“Ek free me taste keliyee dedo,” wrote another.
This isn’t the only meal with a gold topping, though. The Scoopi cafe in Dubai serves Black Diamond ice cream, which costs Rs 60,000 and is decorated with 23-carat edible gold.
