Election: Rs 64 lakh worth of alcohol seized

Udupi: Since the day the model code of conduct has been implemented in the district, a total of 14 cases have been booked and Rs 24,59,290 in cash has been seized. Of this Rs 23,50,290 has been released back post verification of relevant documents.
The Excise Department has seized 15,845.03 liters of alcohol which is valued at Rs 64,39,144 . On this occasion 3 trucks, 3 two-wheelers have been seized. Along with 30 tonnes of rice, the total amount of all the cases is Rs 1,99,97,185, The police department has seized 11,7 liters of alcohol worth Rs 6,107.
153 complaints received
153 complaints have been received in connection to the violation of model code of conduct of which, 146 complaints have been resolved while 7 remain pending.
Altogether 168 applications have been received from political parties through Suvidha single window permission facility and permission has been provided to 145 of them.
38 vehicle permission application have been received of which 35 have been provided with permission. 2 have been rejected and 1 is pending.
CVigil: 168 complaints received
I68 complaints have been received through CVigil, which have been verified and resolved. 39 were dummy cases, 130 true cases and 118 cases were disposed within 100 minutes.
8,154 differentially abled voter
8,154 differentially abled voters have been identified and voting facility has been created by giving importance to their needs. Action has also been taken to provide necessary facilities to senior citizens.
Helpline: 1,462 calls received
1,462 calls have been received through the voter’s helpline 1950 and necessary information and help has been provided.
The addition of the candidate names to the EVM has been completed. 865 EVM have been subjected to inspection and all the necessary basic facilities have been provided in accordance to the direction of the Election Commission, stated a release.
