Election: Some flexes persist; while some removed!

Udupi: As elections draw closer, the Election Commission put up flexes of ambassadors promoting and spreading awareness on voting. However, a similar flex installed near the road turning towards the Deputy Commissioner’s office from Manipal’s Syndicate circle is stuck at the 2018 elections.

A month before the election, the district administration indulges in full preparations. The moment model code of conduct comes into effect, the election department takes action and boards of all political parties are removed. Yet a flex with Rahul Dravid promoting 2018 election still persists. The Legislative Assembly, corporation elections have concluded and the Lok Sabha election for 2019 are closing in. But the flex persists. A few have given complaints through the phone in this connection, but the board persists.

Officials are removing the stickers from cars, but the outdated flex remains.
