Electrical equipment theft, One arrested

Mangaluru: The local police arrested one person from Mura on Monday, August 26 with regard to the theft of electrical equipment belonging to a firm located in the special economic zone here.

The arrested are Muhammed Shamir alias Cheriyonu (30).

The police also seized 30 stainless steel glands and a pickup vehicle totally valued at Rs 3.10 lac were confiscated from his possession.

August 20 Sathish, in-charge of the firm, had noticed that the lock of the shed had been broken open. He also found that 601 electrical cable glands worth Rs 2.11 lac had been stolen.

Following the incident, a complaint about the theft had been registered in Bajpe police station.
