Elon Musk answers as images of his Chinese doppleganger go viral

Almost every day, Elon Musk makes the front pages of websites, tabloids, and newspapers.

His odd social media presence and public appearances have made him extremely prominent on the internet. It’s difficult to stay out of the spotlight when you’re the world’s richest person.

Despite the fact that he is a man of few words on social media, some of his tweets have caused a stir in the stock market. Musk, it’s safe to say, is tailor-made for today’s headlines.

Last week, however, Elon Musk made headlines for a different reason. Something that was neither about him nor about him. Confused?

A man from Asia has gone viral on the internet due to his startling similarity to Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Actually, it was more than just striking. Unless the viral video was doctored, the man appeared to be a carbon copy of Musk.

The lookalike was clad in a black coat and stood next to a black automobile in a video released on China’s Douyin. Because of the eerie resemblance, many social media users debated if the video was altered or a deepfake.

Later, a video of the unidentified man chatting while standing next to the same black car surfaced.

Needless to say, netizens began discussing the video, with many dubbing the man ‘Yi Long Musk.’

“Maybe I’m partly Chinese!” Musk replied to a tweed that compared the two people.

Isn’t it strange that Musk’s doppelgänger lives in Asia? Yes. Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, was born in South Africa to a South African father and a Canadian mother. He has no ties to China, and he has never claimed to be of Asian descent.
