Bengaluru: Just two months after Kumaraswamy took charge as the Chief Minister of Karnataka, he broke down at a felicitation ceremony organised for him by his party workers.
“You are waiting with flowers on roads, near my home, to wish me… all of you are happy as I became the Chief Minister, but I’m not happy. I know the torment of the coalition government. I am becoming vishakant (Lord Shiva who drank poison) gulping the pain of this coalition government,” Kumaraswamy told party workers. He went ahead to state that he didn’t wish to be Chief Minister to enjoy power but to take care of the issues of the people and fulfill the incomplete plan of his father. But, the general population, he stated, did not give him majority.
His deputy, G Parameshwara of the Congress got over the reports, saying “How can he say that? He should be certainly happy. The Chief Minister must be always happy, if he’s happy we are all happy.”
