End of Bandh in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: After hours of protest and state wide bandh called by pro-kannada unions, the bandh came to an end and no unpleasant incidents have come to light anywhere in the city.
Thousands of pro-Kannada activists started their rally around 12 noon. They burnt an effigy of Central government near Town Hall, and the procession reached Freedom Park around 3 pm.
Majestic bus stand was empty and the bus transportation was stopped. The activists made all the passengers get down from the bus.
The film industry cancelled all shoots. Multiplexes and malls remained closed on Thursday.
Essential services such as petrol bunks, hospitals, medical stores, and a few hotels remained open.
Advocates stayed away from court proceedings in support of Mahadayi water dispute protest.
Nearly 250 and fire brigade and police personnel were deployed in and around Town Hall and Freedom Park area to ensure law and order in the city on Thursday.
Activist Vatal Nagaraj who led the protest said, barring the BJP, all other parties and organisations had extended their support for the bandh.
