Mangaluru: In a vibrant celebration of 54 years, thousands of readers actively participated in the ‘Udayavani Deepavali Dhamaka 2023’ competition. The winners of the contest were feted at the prize distribution ceremony at SL Shet Diamond House, Ladyhill, Mangaluru on Saturday.
The event, organized by Udayavani in collaboration with SL Shet Diamond House, witnessed an enthusiastic display of community spirit.
Dr. Sandhya S. Pai, Managing Editor of Taranga Weekly, expressed admiration for the enduring relationship between Udayavani and its audience. During the prize distribution ceremony, Dr. Pai highlighted the motivating factor of this long-standing connection, inspiring continuous innovation.
“People’s enthusiasm for Udayavani’s Deepavali Dhamaka is increasing year by year. It is commendable that SL Shet Diamond House has joined hands with us since the beginning,” Dr Pai said.
Ravindra Shet, the proprietor of SL Shet Diamond House, commended Udayavani newspaper for actively engaging readers beyond news delivery. He noted that the newspaper is creating unforgettable memories for its readers through the organization of diverse competitions and programs. Mr. Shet highlighted the distinctive contributions of Sandhya Pai and Satish Pai, acknowledging their role in giving the newspaper a fresh perspective on social, cultural, artistic, and technical aspects.
Speaking on the power of strengthening relationships, Deepti Shet of Diamond House emphasized the significance of gold and silver in strengthening relations. She praised the collaborative efforts of the “Udayavani” newspaper and the ‘SL Shet’ organization, recognizing their impactful work in this regard.
Ramachandra Mijar, Vice-President of Udayavani’s Magazine and Special Initiatives Division, pointed out that the Deepavali special edition of “Udayavani” attracts readers not only from Karnataka but also from Kerala and Maharashtra. He emphasized that, in addition to bringing sweetness and joy to the festival, the literary culture holds special significance for the readers in these regions.
Present at the event were Diamond House partners Sharath Shet, Prasad Shet, and Prasanna Shet.
Udayavani’s Regional Manager Mangluru Satish Manjeshwar announced the details of the prize winners. Mangaluru Chief Correspondent Venu Vinod K S extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Shanaya Shet of SL Shet Diamond House proposed a vote of thanks. The program was eloquently narrated by senior reporter Dinesh Ira.
