Bengaluru: Reacting on the recent sedition case slapped at school authority in Bidar, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that everything has been done as per law as the matter is extremely serious and sensitive.
Addressing presspersons he said, “It is a very serious and sensitive case. Everything has been done as per law.”
“I am gathering more details about the probe in the case,” he added.
Bommai’s statement comes in the backdrop of CEO of Shaheen Education Institute, Bidar, Tauseef Madikeri remarks that the police visited the classroom and interrogated the students, which is beyond anyone’s imagination.
“That the police have invoked Sections 124A, 505 and 504 of the IPC against the institution, over a play staged against CAA and NRC,” Tauseef further added.
Amid continuous protests over CAA and NRC across the country, a sedition case has been filed against a school authority for staging a play in which some characters allegedly ‘insulted’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following the complaint, the police had arresed the shcool headmisterss and a student’s mother.
