In the midst of the Afghan crisis, an image of a former Afghan Communications Minister who is now working as a pizza delivery person in Germany has gone viral on social media.

In the photo shared by Al-Jazeera Arabia on Twitter, the former minister named Syed Ahmad Shah Sadat is seen wearing a pizza company’s uniform and going for delivery.

Sadat who had joined Ashraf Ghani’s cabinet in 2018 had resigned from his post in 2020 due to differences with Ghani and subsequently, he moved to Germany.

After his money ran out, he took up the job of a pizza delivery person for German company Livrando, according to Sky News.

Sadat told the news channel that his story will serve as a “catalyst” to change the way high-ranking people live their lives in Asia and the Arab world.

Notably he holds two master’s degrees from Oxford University, one in electronic engineering and the other in communications. Sadat has worked in more than 20 communication-related fields in 13 countries. He has 23 years of experience working in the field of communication.

Once surrounded by security personnel, Sadat is now delivering pizza on a bicycle.
