Ex-JDS Leader, Accused in Rape, Murder of Minor Girl Gets Bail, Holds Road Show in Dharwad

Dharwad: In a shameful act, a former JDS leader, accused in rape and murder of a minor girl held a road show in Dharwad town on September 14 after a local court granted bail to him inconnection with the criminal case. The accused, Mukthum Sogalada was sent to jail after he reportedly raped and murdered a minor girl at a lodge in Hubballi two months ago.
Fans, friends and others of the accused gathered at the premises of the jail here on Thursday and brought him to his residence in a huge road show which created traffic jam in the town. As many as 500 bikes, 20 cars and others were participated in the show, sources said.
The responsible citizens of Dharwad urged the police department to take action against him for holding such a celebration even if he is an accused in a serious criminal case. The accused was a JDS leader and he was dismissed from the party following rape and murder allegations.
