Ex-NSG chief JK Dutt, who led 26/11 Mumbai counter-terror operation, dies of COVID-19

New Delhi: Former NSG DG JK Dutt passed away aged 72 on Wednesday in Gurugram due to complications arising out of COVID-19.
He was admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon on April 14 after his oxygen saturation started declining and passed away today at 3:30 pm after suffering a massive cardiac arrest
“NSG condoles his untimely demise. He will always be remembered for his leadership during Operation Black Tornado (26/11 Mumbai counter-terror operation),” NSG said.
He served as the chief of the NSG from 2006 to 2009 and also worked in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)
Dutt is survived by his wife, a son, who works in Noida, and a daughter, who is based in the US.
