Exclude my name from Tipu Jayanthi invite: Ananth Kumar Hegde

Bengaluru: Union minister Ananth Kumar Hegde has written a letter to the chief secretary to state government seeking that his name, be excluded from the Tipu Jayanti programme invitations.
Apart from the chief secretary Hegde even wrote a letter to the Belagavi and Uttara Karnataka Deputy Commissioner asking them not to include his name in the invitation citing protocol procedures. It may be recalled that the minister had made a similar request during the last years celebrations as well.
Ananth Kumar Hegde has been opposed to the celebrations while claiming that Tipu was against Kannada language and was anti-Hindu.
Tipu Jayanthi will be observed on November 10.
