Exemplary action by a youth doctor
Private Doctor providing free service at government hospital

Kadaba: Even though rural service has been made compulsory for government doctors, it has not worked up to the expectation. But here is a private doctor who by himself has chosen to provide medical assistance at a government hospital, that too for free!
The name of the doctor who is an example for the youth, in that too for the other doctors is Dr Avin D P. He has been providing free service at Kadaba hospital after getting a special permission from the Health Department. Avin has attempted the entrance exam for his post-graduation through government quota and he is using his free time constructively.
Rare achiever
Dr Avin comes from a poor financial background, however inculcated a persistence to achieve a bigger aim, completed his MBBS from Mysuru Medical College and realized his parents dream.
Dr Avin DP is the elder son of Dushyant, an auto rickshaw driver and Prema couple, a beedi worker, residents of Donimane in Yedamangala in Kadaba taluk. Avin studied till 10th std at Knanaya Jyothi English Medium School in Kadaba, passed SSLC with 95% marks and received free seat for PU under the foster programme of Alva’s Educational Institution in Moodbidri. He achieved 685th rank in the state in the Medical entrance exam and secured a seat at Mysuru Medical College. Now, after completion of MBBS, he is getting ready to pursue general surgery under government quota at Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre in New Delhi.
During this time where the development of the country is taking form as a people’s movement and like all the youth pushing towards progress, I have made use of the opportunity to provide a small service to the people of my village as a youth doctor, says Dr Avin DP
