Explosion at manufacturing unit: Another accused arrested from Bengaluru

Belthangady: Venur police have apprehended a fourth accused in connection with the explosion at the fireworks manufacturing unit at Kadthyaru near Kukkedi in Venur.
The accused, identified as Anil M David (49) from Gokula, Diwanara Palya, Bengaluru North, was arrested in Bengaluru on February 4.
David, who holds a license for supplying chemicals used in firecracker manufacturing, allegedly provided excessive quantities of chemicals to the Venur unit. He was presented before the Belthangady court on February 5 and has been remanded to judicial custody.
This latest arrest brings the total number of individuals in custody to four.
Owner of the manufacturing unit Syed Bashir (47) from Venur, and Kiran (24) from Hassan, were produced in court on February 5 after completing a 7-day police custody period. They, too, have been remanded to judicial custody.
