Bengaluru: Former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Thursday said that the government must extend lockdown for one more week and provide Rs 10,000 compensation to everyone.
Kumaraswamy said, “Even though the Covid-19 cases have been reduced in Bengaluru, cases are on a rise in several other districts. According to me, it is better to extend the lockdown for one more week. The first wave of Covid had affected the revenue of the government, but this year as the government has increased taxes, revenue also has increased.”
He further said, “The Rs 1,250 crore package announced by the government is unscientific. I urge the government to provide a compensation of Rs 10,000 each to one crore families of the state. Also, it is better to halt the sanctioning of funds for unnecessary construction works,” he added
