Facebook launches video conferencing tool, to allow up to 50 users with no time-limit

Facebook announced the launch of its video-conferencing tool, Messenger Rooms, which will hold up to 50 participants with no time limit.

Messenger Rooms will allow users to invite people without the app or an account to join a video conference via a link for an internet browser, Facebook said. Participants will appear on the screen in the form of a mosaic that can display 16 windows on a computer and 8 on a smartphone.

On Facebook, people will see rooms created by friends or communities that are open to them, and when they are invited to a room, they will be able to join from their phone or computer without having to download anything.

Facebook VP of Messenger Stan Chudnovsky said, there are plans integrate Messenger Rooms with Instagram Direct, WhatsApp, and Portal.
