New Delhi: Press Information Bureau has tweeted a picture on its official handle claiming that a video being spread across WhatsApp on Rs. 500 notes is not true.
The video purportedly explains false differences between two Rs. 500 notes, stating that only one of the two is real. PIB mentioned in the tweet that both the notes are real and acceptable.
The tweeted picture shows the two notes. On one the green strip is near the image of Gandhiji and on the other its a little farther. The video had allegedly stated that notes with the strip closer to Gandhiji are fake.
Claim: Images and TikTok Videos doing the rounds on #WhatsApp are claiming that ₹ 500 currency notes on which the green strip is closer to #Gandhi Ji are fake.
Reality: Both these notes are acceptable currency.
