Fake currency case, two sentenced to 8 years imprisonment

Tumakuru: The fourth additional district court and session’s court condemned two men arrested in a fake currency note racket to eight years in prison and a fine of Rs 50,000 on Tuesday.
The two convicts are Maruti of Hulikunte town, Koratagere taluk, Tumakuru and Afroze of B G Palya, Tumakuru city. The court condemned them to eight years thorough detainment.
Sub-inspector Pranesh Rao had conducted raid on Maruti’s home and seized fake Rs 500, Rs 100, Rs 50 and Rs 20 notes amounting to Rs 35,770 of fake cash. Police likewise seized Rs 58,000 of genuine notes that had been traded by flowing the phony ones. Police said that Afroze was providing the phony notes to Maruti.
Judge B N Lavanyalata passed the judgment. Public Prosecutor S K Narayanaswamy contended in the interest of the state.
