Fake WhatsApp account in Mangalore Varsity VC’s name, FIR filed

Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jayaraj Amin has lodged a complaint regarding a fake WhatsApp account in his name.

In his complaint, lodged with cyber-crime police Amin said that miscreants created a WhatsApp account (number 9638447718) using his name and photo. The same is being used to circulate messages asking for money.

He requested people not to respond to the request of money made using the fake WhatsApp account.

“Found that fake message in my name is being circulated in WhatsApp and other media asking for money. Please do not respond to it. If you find such message or request please call me,” he stated.
