Family robbed with heavy cash and valuables while watching TV

Mandya: A family was robbed directly in front of them while they were still in their home… sitting in front of the TV. 

The strange episode occurred on the SBI Bank Road in the Vivekananda area the evening of July 6. Jayaram and his mother were engaged in sitting in front of the TV while Meenakshi, Jayaram’s wife, was cooking in the kitchen when a thief broke into their home. 

Seeing that the family was occupied, the thief started to grab all the money and gold that he could discover. The thief fled the scene with his loot when Meenakshi screamed after seeing him. 

The thief managed to carry off Rs 6.5 Lakh in cash and gold weighing 5 grams. As indicated by sources, Jayaram and his mother were busy watching their favorite TV serial when the incident took place.

PSI Kumar went by the spot and examinations are progressing.
