Farmer dies after mistaking pesticide for cough syrup in Tumakuru

In a tragic incident, a farmer accidentally consumed pesticide, mistaking it for cough syrup, leading to his death in Gollarahatti village of Thammadihalli in Huliyar Hobli on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Chotnar Ningappa (65). According to sources, Ningappa experienced a bout of coughing during the night and mistakenly ingested pesticide, which he had stored for crop spraying, thinking it was cough syrup.
Realizing his mistake, he immediately informed his family. Despite being rushed to the hospital for treatment, doctors were unable to save him.
