New Delhi: Ahead of the sixth round of discussions between agitating farmers and Centre to resolve the deadlock over farm laws issue, Home Minister Amit Shah will meet Bharatiya Kisan Union representatives today evening.
Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait asserted that he received a call from the Home Minister inviting them for a meeting at 7 pm later in the day.
The protests, demanding the repeal of the new farm laws entered 13th day today even as the Modi government has launched a campaign to highlight the benefits of the same.
The call for nationwide Bharath Bandh has been backed by opposition parties, including the Congress, AAP, DMK, TRS. Road and rail traffic in parts of the country has been hit and markets are shut in few places, thus affecting supplies.
