Amid protests by farmers against the new farm laws, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU-Lakhowal) General Secretary, HS Lakhowal said, “We have given a call for Bharat Bandh on December 8.”
“We told the government that the farm laws should be withdrawn. On December 5, effigies of PM (Narendra) Modi will be burnt across the country,” he added.
The meeting of farmer union leaders with the government had ended without a breakthrough on December 3. The next round of talks will be held on December 5.
