Mangaluru: Though the government has extended FASTag deadline by a month, a chaotic situation prevailed at the Talapady tollgate here following an argument between city bus and toll gate personnel here on Sunday morning.
Vehicles were lined up at the toll gate as only one counter had been opened for vehicles with FASTag leading to a considerable time delay for bus operators, ply from Talapady to Mangaluru, who have to adhere to their timings.
Pointing towards the chaos at the toll gate on Sunday, which is a holiday, the bus personnel sought to know how the situation will be on weekdays and demanded the tollgate staff to open one more counter.
Owing to the confusion, the bus operators have said that they will not ply beyond the toll gate till a separate lane is provided for private buses or an additional counter for FASTag.
The new system of FASTag which was supposed to start today was extended owing to shortage of tags availability in the market.
