Fazil murder accused are being dealt according to law, no special treatment given: Compol clarifies

Mangaluru: City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar refuted the rumors that the accused persons in the Mohammed Fazil murder case are being given special preferential treatment. “They are being dealt with in accordance with the law… No special treatment is given to them,” he clarified.
Responding to a media query, the police officer said that he does not know on what basis some of the community leaders arrived at the conclusion that special treatment is given to the accused. “I have personally visited the Surathkal police station. the accused are not given any preferential treatment,” he added.
Further, the police commissioner said that he had visited Fazil’s home on Monday. “The family members have my contact number as well as the phone numbers of senior officials. If any doubts arise, they can directly contact us,” he said.
Police have arrested 7 persons for their involvement in the murder of Mohammed Fazil at Surathkal. They are currently in police custody undergoing interrogation. It has come to light that the accused used 2 vehicles during the course of the crime. They will be confiscated, Shashi Kumar added.
