Fazil murder case: One person taken into custody

Mangaluru: The city police have arrested one person for questioning in connection with the Fazil murder case.
ADGP Alok Kumar, on Sunday, said that the accused, named Ajith, the owner of the getaway car used by the assailants has been arrested.
He is presently being interrogated to ascertain his role, police sources added.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the murder continues. On July 30 Mangaluru Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar informed that 16 suspects had been rounded up for questioning in connection with the Muhammed Fazil murder case.
Further, he said that investigation has unearthed clues about the culprits behind the gruesome murder.
During the initial stages of investigations, 21 persons of interest had been detained for questioning, he said, and added that only those responsible for the crime will be arrested.
Fazil had been killed in full public view on the evening of Thursday, July 28 while he had been shopping at Surathkal.
