Tumakuru: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Monday informed that the final rites of the seer will be conducted with state honours.
Addressing media, Kumaraswamy said that the final rites of the seer will be conducted with state honours. The national flag will fly half-mast on all government buildings with no official entertainment programmes.
The mortal remains of Dr Shivakumar Swamiji will be kept for public viewing from 5 PM to Tuesday 3 PM in front of the diamond jubilee hall and the final rites will be performed at 4:30 PM, informed sources.
Karnataka state government has also declared state holiday tomorrow and three days state mourning. Schools and colleges across Tumakuru will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday. All shops and establishments have been shut down in Tumakuru.
Tumakuru district administration facilitates bus services to the Siddaganga mutt for the public to have their last glance at their beloved Swamiji. Traffic diversions have been made for easier vehicular movement.
The news of Dr Shivakumara Swami’s death has spread like wildfire. The devotees are left in a state of despair. Tumakuru is getting crowded with people from all over Karnataka.
Helipads have been set up in Tumakuru Industrial Area and College Grounds for the arrival of VIPs.
