Finance director of MRPL passes away

Mangaluru: The Director (Finance) of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd Akshaya Kumar Sahoo (55) passed away due to ill health on Tuesday. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. MRPL has expressed deep shock and grief on the sudden and untimely demise of its director, in a press release.

Mr Sahoo had over 28 years of rich experience in various aspects of finance and finance management and took charge as Director Finance of MRPL on February 1, 2016. He has previously served in diverse sectors such as teaching, mining, manufacturing and service before turning to the refining and petrochemical industry.

He was a post-graduate degree holder in Analytical and Applied Economics from Utkal University, Odisha. He was a fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

MRPL Managing Director M. Venkatesh expressed his grief and said that Sahoo’s demise is a great loss to MRPL and the entire oil industry. ONGC’s CMD and MRPL’s Chairman Shashi Shanker has expressed his condolences
