Bengaluru: The Karnataka spokesman of a temple and religious organizations association Mohan Gowda has demanded a government probe into the alleged irregularities at the Kollur Shree Mookambika temple.
Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, he said action should be taken against the guilty in the temple’s governing body and the administrative staff involved in the irregularities.
“The irregularities in the temple was revealed from letters obtained through the Right to Information Act. Gold and silver items donated to the temple were found to be stolen. A protest would be organised if the government does not order an inquiry within 15 days,” he warned.
“The list of donated jewellery for 2018-2019 has not been submitted to the Government auditor. There was no audit done of the temple. In 2016, the temple’s executive officer and staff were involved in a gold theft case. The same thing has happened again. The State secretary of Sri Rama Sena, MS Nandish too had complained about it to the Muzrai minister,” he added.
According to the temple auditor’s report, the temple’s former governing body and officials have misused the funds of the temple.
