Financial troubles: 20-year-old ends life by jumping into the sea

Surathkal: A young man killed himself by jumping into the sea allegedly due to his inability to repay the loans he had taken from family and friends.

The deceased has been Kendrick Lawrence D’Souza (20), a resident of Katipalla.

According to reports Kendrick had taken leave from work on Monday. He left home at around 11.30 AM leaving behind a death note. His mother later found the note and came to know of his intentions. A search was launched to trace him. His lifeless body was found near Surathkal Beach at around 3 pm.

The suicide note said that he was responsible for his own death and that he was unable to repay the borrowed money by pledging his mother’s gold jewellery.

A case has been registered at the Surathkal police station.
