Financier waylaid; robbed of Rs 2 lakh in cash

Mangaluru: Some unidentified miscreants have robbed Rs 2 lakh in cash from the hands of a financier at Malali, Bajpe near here on Sunday, July 14.

The victim is identified as Senthil Kumar from Nagori, who is private financier, had been to Malali in Bajpe to collect money from the people whom he had lent money. He was on his way from a colony in Malali when two bikes bearing four persons started to tail him. After sometime, the bikes overtook Mr Kumar’s bike and returned back from the opposite direction. Those riding the bike were equipped with machetes and threatened to murder him and made off with the suitcase of Rs 2 lakh. They also stole Rs 5,000 which was in the victim’s pockets and thus made off with a total of Rs 2.05 lakh in case, states the victim in his complaint to the police.

A case in this connection has been registered at Bajpe police station and investigation is on.
