FIR against AIMEP founder president Nowhera Sheikh

Bengaluru: All India Mahila Empowerment Party president Nowhera Sheik is accused of swindling by collecting blank cheques from a group of people in the name of collecting party funds. A case has been enrolled against Sheik and five others at Jeevan Bhimanagar.

The police sources have said that the complainants claimed to be candidates of the AIMEP. A FIR has been enrolled in such manner. 

Ajjaiah H, in his complaint said that Sheik, who had guaranteed a ticket from Hagaribommanahalli, solicited him to be a part of the party convention held at Hotel Leela Palace.

She had kept forward a demand for Rs 28 lakh expressing that it was towards the election costs. She had then purportedly demanded Rs 50,000 towards party funds and guaranteed that B-Form would be offered just to the individuals who meet the budgetary necessities. Since she had declared the same amid the convention, Ajjaiah had done same. 

He additionally complained that Nauhera also demnaded blank cheques, promising to pay back Rs 2 crore.

He said that later, when he tried to contact Nauhera, she stayed away from him by giving lame reasons. The objection expresses that Nauhera even threatened him of dire consequences if he asked back for his money. 

Nauhera additionally faces charges of giving B-Form to numerous contender for one constituency, he said. 

However, MEP state advisory committee member Vandana has refuted the charges saying that the allegations are baseless which is an attempt to damage Sheikh’s image.
