FIR against Congress leaders: Bommai

Bengaluru: Home Minister Basavaraja Bommai has said that an FIR has been filed under the Disaster Management Act against Congress leaders who participated in the protest against the petrol and diesel price hike.

Rallies are banned in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic in the State.

Congress leaders Cycle Jatha protest is in violation of lockdown guidelines. The Congress leaders were not given permission for the protest, still they went ahead with their protest. They need to be socially responsible. Hundreds of people were out on the street, what message are theyr giving to the people, Bommai added.

Deputy Chief Minister Lakshman Savadi also expressed outrage at the Congress cycle rally stating that during this time of hardship when social distancing is being implemented across the country Congress leaders break the law and take out rally with thousands in Bengaluru.
