Bengaluru: Sandalwood actor, producer, and director Rakshit Shetty has an FIR filed against him concerning copyright issues.

Naveen Kumar of MRT Music has filed a complaint at Yeshwanthpur Police Station, alleging that two songs were used without permission in Rakshit Shetty’s film “Bachelor Party.”

The comedy entertainer “Bachelor Party,” directed by Abhijith Mahesh, was released on January 26 this year.

Rakshit Shetty is accused of using the songs “Gaalimathu” and “Nyaya Ellide” in the film without obtaining the necessary permissions.

Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Studios produced the film. Previously, there were discussions between Naveen Kumar and Rakshit Shetty regarding the songs. Naveen Kumar deals in acquiring and selling song copyrights.

However, Naveen Kumar has claimed that Rakshit Shetty used the songs in the film without purchasing the rights for broadcast and ownership.

This is not the first time Rakshit Shetty has faced copyright issues. He previously encountered problems for using the song “Shanthi Kranti” from V. Ravichandran’s film without permission in “Kirik Party.”

“Bachelor Party” was produced jointly by Rakshit Shetty and Amit Gupta, featuring actors Diganth, Loose Maada Yogi, Achyuth Kumar, and Siri Ravikumar in significant roles.
