Fire at rubber smoke house in Belthangady; Loss exceeds Rs 2 lakh

Belthangady: A fire broke out at a rubber smoke house belonging to Balakrishna Shetty on the Balyarkapu Road in Mundaje village, resulting in losses exceeding Rs 2 lakh.

The fire, which started in the early hours of Tuesday, destroyed approximately 8 quintals of rubber. The smoke house was completely gutted, with its roofing sheets also being reduced to ashes.

Despite efforts by locals and the fire department to control the flames, the structure was entirely consumed by the fire.
