Fire breaks out at APMC godown, goods worth Rs 50 lakh destroyed

Bengaluru: An accidental fire that broke out at the APMC godown at Saudatti on Tuesday morning decimated the huge load of foodgrains, cotton bales etc stocked at the premises. The loss coming about out of the fire has been pegged at Rs 50 lakhs. 

According to the police authorities, the godown was owned by Ashok cotton merchants. About 1000 quintals of rice, 500 quintals of maize, 20 quintals of pulses among different things stored here were decimated in the fire. 

Fire station authorities hurried to the spot and doused the fire. A case has been registered at Saudatti police station.
