Fire engulfs house in Bantwal, 40 quintals of arecanut destroyed

Bantwal: As much as 40 quintals of arecanut was destroyed after fire engulfed a house located at Bal Tilla village of Kalladka here on Monday, April 22 noon.
Materials worth lakhs of rupees was also destroyed in the fire that broke out at the residence of a Chandrashekhar Naik. Reportedly the family members were not present at home when the fire broke out as they had to attend a wedding function in Brahmarakutlu.
Fire engines were called in to extinguish the fire.
MLA Rajesh Naik, Tahsildar Sannarangaiah, Taluk Panchayat member Lakshmi Gopal and others visited the spot.
