Fire erupts at jewellery box manufacturing unit in Karkala

Karkala: A fire broke out at a jewellery box manufacturing unit located in Mundkur village of the taluk on Friday, July 10 morning.

The manufacturing unit ‘Swati Processors’ belonged to S Sudhir Shenoy, a gram panchayat member of Mundkur village.

Fire personnel rushed to the spot. and with help of locals doused the flames.

Goods worth Rs 15 lakh that were destroyed in the mishap included the unsold inventory, computers and other raw materials.

A case is registered at Karkala rural police station limit.
