Riyadh: A court in Saudi Arabia sentenced five people to death and another three face 24 years in prison for their roles in the gruesome murder of the dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi on Monday
The journalist and critic of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was murdered in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul last year which triggered international condemnation.
Eleven unnamed suspects were sent to trials that have been carried out in near-total secrecy.
