Five teen extortionists arrested

Bengaluru: Five teen gangsters have been nabbed by the Byatarayanapura Police on January 22. The gang had created terror in the minds of lonely passersby and travellers in the city.
The accused have been identified as Suhaib Pasha and Zubair Pasha who are employees in a cloth store, Mohammed Afreed, a car accessories mechanic, Syed Sameer, a welder by profession and Mohammed Ummer. All the accused are aged 19 years. They resided at Jag Jeevan Ram Nagar in the city and conducted extortions.
The accused used to target lonely passersby and travellers and attack them with deadly weapons and threaten them during late hours in the night. The police nabbed the gang when they were plotting extortion between Nayandahalli Circle on Mysuru Road and Muthachari Industrial Estate at 8.30 PM.
The police have recovered Jewellery, 10 mobile phones and 5 two-wheelers valued at Rs. 5Lakh from the gangsters. This arrest has helped the police to solve 19 cases of extortion in 6 different police station limits.
All the accused have been remanded to judicial custody till January 29. Further investigation is still in progress.
