Floating jetties soon at Malpe and Hoige Bazar: Kota Srinivas Poojary

Mangaluru: Minister of Fisheries and Ports, Kota Srinivas Poojary said that the state government will be building floating jetties at Malpe and Hoige Bazaar for fishermen at an estimated total cost of Rs 13 crores.
He further said that the state government has also sanctioned Rs 29 crores for dredging the silt accumulated in an estuary on the city’s shore which was inconveniencing fishermen and the Kisan Credit Card scheme will be extended to all fishermen.
Poojary was in the city on Monday for inaugurating the ‘Kumaradhara’ boat of the Mahajana Sabha Bengre and a passenger ferry jetty at Boloor.
The jetty which is 15.5 metres long was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 45 lakhs.
