Flood victim awaiting govt relief commits suicide over loan repayment

Mudigere: In the second instance of farmer suicide reported in Mudigere taluk, a 55-year-old man ended his life by consuming poison here on Wednesday, October 2 night.
The deceased identified as Chandregowda had reportedly half-acre each of paddy and coffee plantation in the recent flood deluge.
It is gathered that he had availed a loan for farming purposes but was unable to repay the same. Moreover, he had not received the flood relief amount from the government.
Depressed over the situation, he is said to committed suicide.
Kalasa police have registered a case in this regard.
